Best Practices With RDP
There are several policies and practices that need to be followed In order to be able to run all the functions and have the ERP work efficiently.
Creating a new password:
When creating a new password, the best practice is to follow the below settings.
• 8 characters long
• One uppercase letter
• One number, and one symbol.
Here are the steps to change your password.
1. Login to the terminal server. The use the Ctrl-Alt-End key combination. It will then bring up thebelow screen.
2. Select Change Password option the next screen will display. Here you will need to enter your old password and the enter in the new one.
3. Then click on the arrow next to the Confirm password filed and you are finished.
Logging off the server at the end of the day:
Below are the steps that are required to log off the cloud server.
1. Go to the windows start menu on the bottom left of the screen.
2. Right click to display the main menu.
3. Select the shut down or log out option.
4. Click “Sign out”.
If this is not done the ERP Printing will not work correctly.
Disconnecting, by clinking the “X’' on the top of the screen or going to Window menu and clicking Disconnect. Is not considered Signing out of Windows. This is just closing the RDP connection for that time, and processes are still running on the server under your user.
Allowing RDP to show all the local drives:
To see all the shared drives on your local computer you will need to ensure that all the resources boxes are selected on the RDP Options.
1. Bring up the RDP connection window.
2. Click on “Show Options” dropdown.
3. Go to the Local Resources Tab.a. Click on the “More..” button.
4. Check all the option boxes.
